Do private high schools in USA offer scholarships

Do private high schools in USA offer scholarships?
I'm from Australia and I'm moving to CA in August. Apparently my parents want to put me in a public school because it's for free, but from other people's experience on Y!A they told me it's better to go to private school. It's just my parents aren't very rich but still can pay the tuition fee but I want to save the money for them. Anyway to private high schools offer scholarships? Thanks

What is the best school for culinary arts in the USA

What is the best school for culinary arts in the USA?
I want to earn a bachelors degree in the culinary arts, and I'm looking for honest reviews and suggestions of schools. If you have attended a prestigious culinary school please tell me about your experience. I'm trying to gather as much information as possible about school before I make a decision.

For a bachelor's in culinary arts, Johnson and Wales is supposed to be a reputable program. I don't personally know anything about the school or program though. Please do forgo those private overpriced for-profit tech schools such as 'art institute' and such. For a certificate program or associate degree, please consider the more affordable county vo-tech school or community college as long as the program is accredited within the industry. This consumer website has many posts about the 'art institute' and other private for-profit schools: http://www.ripoffreport.com and can search. This consumer site may have reviews about schools of interest: http://www.studentsreview.com and can search and then click 'comments' if there are any. For US colleges: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ General career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'chefs, cooks and food preparation workers' or such.

Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. My daughter just graduated from there (4 years) with a Fine Arts degree - Major Interior Design. Great school, especially if you want to go into animation, as Disney loves to hire Ringling students. Very expensive (about 11k a semester), but definitely worth it! The college's technology is over and above all other design schools. Check it out and good luck!

The top ranked MFA programs in graphic design, etc. are: - Rhode Island School of Design - Yale - Cranbrook Academy - Art Center College of Design - Virginia Commonwealth U - Carnegie Mellon U - North Carolina State U - U Illinois Urbana Champaign - Pratt Institute - School of Visual Arts Those are the elite. Very strong reputations in the fields you list. Other schools with very good programs, specifically in interactive, include: School of the Art Institute of Chicago, California Institute of the Arts, UCLA, New York University, UC San Diego, and Rensselaer Polytechnic. You can't go wrong with those schools. Really, really great reps in the fields you list.
